Spring

It was the beginning of Spring when we visited Seoul in April 2015. The flowers were blooming beautifully and with an array of colors. Unfortunately, it was raining when we get down from the bus but we were so excited to see the Cherry Blossom, it doesn't really matter.
This is another Mixed Media Art (and up-cycled project) from me and very ambitious, too, because I used a 28 x 38 cm chipboard. Believe me when I said that I had coated the background with 5 coats of Acrylic paints. First I apply white Gesso to the chipboard (saved from a file that was going to the bin). Initially I wanted a green background, then changed my mind and coloured it Terracota. As I had nothing in mind about what project to do with it, I leave it lying around for weeks. When I saw the photo while going through my stacks of photo, I repaint the chipboard. I used three coats of paint to achieve the final background.
Since the challenge :

{Stencil Sunday #32} + February Mixed Media Challenge

is Anything goes, I am not bound by stringent rules and regulations which is to my liking. All I need is Stencils.

Dream Come true

When I saw pixelsandpaper February Challenge Criteria is Travel Theme, I wasted no time in creating this layout. This is rather a simple CAS layout without any paints splashed on the page.
These photos were taken when we were at Incheon Airport waiting for connecting flight to Jeju Island in April 2015. no, we did not fly Jeju Air but Triways to Jeju Island.

The Journal read: "One of Zahra's dreams was to travel by air and another dream was destination Korea. Both her dreams were fulfilled when my Company's Recreational Club organized a trip to Korea in the Spring of 2015. As such, she travelled by plane 6 times in a space of 7 days.
It was her dreams come true and I am truly happy for her. That trip was her first flight experience and something she really treasured".

Wonderful Friends

What do you give to a friend who is so wealthy, she can ask anything she desire at the snap of her fingers? Those in the same clan will be able to answer this question with ease. For those not in the same clan will have a hard time figuring it out.

For Miss Z, the best gift is always something that money cannot buy - Memories. She asked me to create a layout for her friend's recent 16th birthday and that was her birthday gift. No fanfares and nothing fancy.

The photo was taken when Zahra' and her friends were in Form 3.

I used Laura Whitakker's February 15 Stuck? to create this layout.

Look At Us

This is actually a very difficult photo to capture because the two subjects were not so co-operative. They were standing still very nicely but I chose not to capture them at the time because there were other tourists milling around them. Finally, Zahra' had her chance and this was when trouble started. As soon as Zahra' walked towards them, the two horses started kicking one another. When Zahra' held the darker brown horse, the other horse butted him (or is it her?). When Zahra' turned her attention toward the lighter brown horse, the other horse threw tantrum and was about to kick him when the rider mastered enough control to pacify him. Both riders were a little alarmed and while the other horse was being calmed, I managed to snap this photo of Zahra' with the horse nuzzling her. My plan was to shoot the two horses with Zahra' in the centre. It was never meant to be. I was a little frustrated but since this is the best I could get at the time, I just have to let it be.
This photo was taken outside the Old Royal Palace in Bangkok after 2:00 pm. It was hot and we were a little flustered by then and not to mention very, very disappointed. We meant to enter the Palace but at 50 Baht per person, we felt it was not worth it because the Palace viewing closes at 5:00 pm and with 2 hours to go, I knew we were not able to cover much. For me, I need the whole day of viewing to actually enjoy and digest everything I saw.

This layout is for the

at Whitewith1 challenge and this is my first entry to this challenge blog.

Special Delivery

It feels good to be creatively productive. After getting my housework done, I sat down and work on my Kraftplus challenge at with February's theme of :

We are Going Postal in February.
We want you to be inspired by

Postage Stamps.

Since I have a large collection of stamps, this is a good way to use up the Stamps that have not gone into the Stamp Albums. I did have a tough time figuring out what to create for this challenge actually because the possibilities are endless. That is, until I did some spring cleaning and came across this photo of my girl when she was at 6 months 3 days. The idea just fell into place and it was easy to assemble the layout.

This photo of Miss Z was taken at a Photo Shop on March 12, 2000.

Supplies: Kraft paper, Kaiser pp, Enogreeting pp, Postage Stamps, Kaiser Postal Stamp, Doily,
Kaiser tags, Kaiser sentiments, Paper Boutique Alphas, Wooden Heart from Typo, Lace
from Daiso, Handmade Flowers (courtesy of Asmah), Enogreeting Handmade Flower, Enogreeting Bird,
Micia Ink, Staz On Ink, Tattered Angel Mists

Postage Stamps from my collection
Ok, so I ran out of the letter L. I used Epoxy Alpha Sticker for the letter "L" and even though it looks out of place, it is the first letter of my name. It just means the Special Delivery is for me, Lili.

Thank you for viewing.

Enjoy It

Using Sketch challenge No. 68 of Scrapafrica, I created this layout of our weekend trip to Kuantan in 2015. This is the bridge across the Mangrove Swamp that we visited.
It was a lovely Nature Walk where we saw many different varieties of Mangrove foliage, and very cooling, indeed. As we walked along, I took as many photos as I could of the trees, and of the surroundings. We took a boat from the Syahbandar Jetty and it took us 45 minutes to reach the swamp. We were only given 30 minutes to wander. Well, it was worth the trip, especially for Nature lovers.
