I spent my weekend with mum. It was good to be with her and I suppose she is delighted to have us over, too. Mum being mum will go all out to prepare the best meal for her ever 'starved' children and granchild. As always, I seldom help her in the kitchen and this time was no exception either. I only helped prepare the basic ingredients and then I was outside clearing her garden. I managed to weed a little, trim her hedges a little and watered her plants. Her plants are her treasured babies and as I was engrossed I forgot to take pictures. Next time!
It was a compact weekend for me because after doing all those little things, I went out with hubby to run errands for her. I am not a list follower but I carried her list least I forget her main requirements. Still, I managed to sidetrack and add an item that was not on the list but I remembered her mentioning it while helping her to prepare the ingredients. I suppose the highlight of the day was her sumptuous meat curry and after a good feed, another round of cleaning up. This time inside the house. She also asked to help her declutter and together with Zahra' we both climbed the attic and removed all of the biscuit and milk tins that dad had so lovingly saved.
Here's a layout I did of mum 4 years ago when I became reacquainted with Scrapbooking. Since the paper itself is 'cluttered', I decided minimal was in order. It sure is minimal in today's standard. At the time, I thought that was the best.
This is a rare photo of mum in a very relaxed and calm pose and to me this is the best shot of her I managed to shoot.
