Dream A Little Bigger

It took me a while to complete this layout as I wasn't sure how I want it to turn out actually. I am creating this layout for Scraparoundtheworld challenge using the February moodboard.

I was inspired by the lady's hair and I happen to have a photo of my daughter with a simple band on top of her head. This was taken during the Main sports day in March last year while she and her team were preparing for the Marching parade.

Location : Bukit Jalil Mini Stadium
Supplies: Kaisercraft pp, Burlap, Bazzil Cardstock, Sunlit border punch
Blooms from daiso, Pop Arts Paper flowers, Die-cut swirl from stash
Lace from stash, Kaisercraft sentiment, Doily, White Gesso, Acrylic Paints
Micia ink

Dabbling with paints was not very easy for me but I decided to break from my comfort zone to create this layout. I still need to practice more to build up my skill.

You Are Fabulous

My sister, Asmah, challenged me to create 6 layouts for the month of February and this is one of six. As an added twist, she also want me to create a Mixed Media project, thus making that the 7th. item. She knew very well that Mixed Media and I don't mix, yet she still proposed that challenge. Hmm..... I must admit I was inspired by her layout of her daughter and I decided to use the sketch by Denise to create this layout.
In all honesty, it has been a while since I participated in Scrap Africa challenge. This sketch was irresistible, though. Unfortunately, this was not the photo I originally intended. For some reason, I left the photo at my office and I just had to find a substitute. I like this photo of Zahra' taken some 3 or 4 years ago when she lets me do a photo shoot of her. A very rare request indeed but a great opportunity for me. She is no longer excited to be in front of the camera anymore.

Here's the layout.

Supplies: GCD Designer Cardstock
Kaisercraft
Bazzil Cardstock
Chipboard
Glimmer Mist
Kaisercraft Swirl (the last swirl from my stash. Phew!)
Washi Tape
American Craft Bakers Twine
Stamp (Micia)
Hearts
Ink (Micia)
Momoyo Flowers
Rose Blooms from Daiso

Some close-ups for details:
I cut out the heart from a piece of chipboard and using Washi Tape, I decorated it.

The ink I used was a tard lighter and almost disappeared into the cardstock. It was actually a leaf shape stamp when originally I intend to use my heart shaped stamps. As always, when I need them, I couldn't find them.

I would also like to enter this layout into Scrapourstash Word challenge and the Word is WASHI.

For this challenge, I used:
W - Washi tape
A - American Crafts Bakers Twine
S - Stamp
H - Hearts
I - Ink
