Wrapping Up 2020 - Ironing Day 3 and Trip to Lumut

I have to try and cover as much as of the ironing today because tomorrow we going on a day trip to the North. Not sure where we will end up but Lumut is the name of the place.

December 30, 2020

Today will be the last day I am ironing the clothes and if there is a remainder these were newly brought in from the lines. No harm carrying the job forward because housework never ends. There is no closing in for housework. Then again, that's what keep us going.

Oh....there is no photos to show. I did iron a bit more and yes, I did leave two piles behind to carry over. The three piles from previous photo were down to two and the newly brought in make up the third. I knew I couldn't complete it because I am going to cook for our trip tomorrow.

December 31, 2020

I was up late, 5:32 am to be exact. Yes, that is late for me. I have half-an-hour to pack the food in individual packs so that it will be easier for us to eat later. I cooked fried spaghetti which is kind of easy and not messy. I also air-fried the curry puffs for breakfast. Managed to pack the food in time for my Subuh prayers, which was great.

As an after thought, I packed extra clothing for myself but I forgot to pack for daughter and hubby. I wish I did because we end up going to the sea.

The fried sphagetti which we end up eating
at lunch time. A very cold lunch, indeed.

I didn't time the journey from my house to Lumut. We left the house around 8:00 am and we reached Teluk Batik, Lumut around 12:51 pm. There was a delay somewhere near the West Coast Expressway. Yeah we took this new route for the first time. The delay was because there was an accident about one mile away from where we were. Heard a lorry turned on its side. Not really sure but an ambulance that drove the victim confirmed that there really was an accident. By the time we get to the scene the road was cleared. We were stuck on the road for nearly 45 minutes. Something new to my daughter. She was amazed at how patient the drivers were, no one was honking or swearing. Many came out of their cars greeting one another and, yes, I did go out to find out what happen. She was surprised the driver in front of us used the time to smoke and chit chat with other motorists. Actually this is normal situation for me but new to her.

The mile long jam, maybe that stuck us all for
nearly 45 minutes

The accident did take away our precious time actually. Otherwise we could have arrived earlier and have a better spot at the beach.

When we reached our destination I could sense my daughter's disappointment. She wanted badly to swim in the sea but I told her she could wear my extra clothes that I brought. Glad I packed her undies. So it she was all smiles after that.

Only my husband and daughter went into the sea. I chose not to because I don't have have extra clothes. I know I can buy from the Souveinor shop but they prefer cash and I didn't bring much cash with me. That is ok. Let hubby and daughter enjoy themselves in the sea water.

We left Teluk Batik to go to the Jetty to Pulau Pangkor to buy dried Anchovies. We end up buying more than just anchovies.

We couldn't find a decent place for dinner but we end up having dinner around 11:00 pm along the old route on the way home. We finally reach home around 1:10 am.

That is my year-end roundup for year 2020. A couple of things I must remember to be more prepared when we go on daytrips. Always pack extra clothings for the three of us irregardless. Purchase proper mat for beach use.

This is all for today. Wishing everyone Happy 2021. Stay safe.

Wrapping Up 2020 - Ironing Day 2

So far so good. I am able to maintain what I had set out to do. As always I was sidetracked.

It was raining fairly heavily this morning. I decided to take the opportunity to deep clean the balcony, not all of it, only a section of it. I really scrubbed the molds of the walls and floor in the rain. I did stop before the rain did and went to take a shower. By the time I am done, the rain had stopped and this is the result of my work. Not 100% cleaned and I know I need to do another round of scrubbing. Maybe at the start of 2021, I shall start to paint the wall. Give the balcony a new look.

Scrubbed floor and wall in the rain.

This area will be next. Probably in 2021

These need to be reorganized. I had replanted the
Snake plants and one pot is for my sister

After the shower I started to do my second round of ironing. Growing up with my parents, I noticed how mum will painstakingly ironed Dad's Naval uniform. Everything has to be crisp and there should always be one line at the sides of the pants and sleeves. At the time the Royal Malaysian Navy was under British command. Inspection of Uniform and shoes was forever in order. Shoes has to be very well shined that you can see your reflection. I remember how mum would starch Dad's uniform so that she could give them a good ironing. Then materials for uniforms changed. Starching was no longer required and ironing became a little easier.

Yes, we have come a long way from that time. Materials had evolved many times over and now there is not much ironing or no ironing is required. Unless one is in the Force. Being a first born, I was trained to iron clothes the way the Uniforms were ironed and I have not really grown out of it. Everything has to be sharp and crisp. But once worn, the crispness really flew out of the window.

What is left after Day 2. Feeling satisfied. Mission almost
accomplished.

Thank you for stopping by. Stay safe. Before I forget Have a joyous, wealthiest, and healthiest 2021 everyone.

Wrapping Up 2020 - Ironing Day 1

I had been so busy with decluttering and crochet I neglected ironing the clothes. The pile has grown up tremendously that I only iron what was required. Definitely this is not good enough. I am going to spend to day until December 31, 2020 attending to clothes only. I hope I shall 'unearth' more clothes to be donated or to be trashed. In syaa Allah.

Waiting to be folded

Done ironed.

Done Folded

I know most people do not iron their T-shirts, I do. I just like to wear T-shirts that are ironed even in the house because it does look neater. All the folded and ironed items will be arranged in their respective places.

Tomorrow I shall continue ironing and hope to reduce the pile to zero. Thank you for stopping by.
