A New Begining

Alas! I managed to complete my Mixed Media Tag. It's a huge tag, I know but after much thought, I decided to turn this into the cover of my new Art journal.

I decided to give a try to this hard plastic medium to create this Mixed Media project. I have always been saving this material every time I discard pages from files at the office and always wonder what I am going to do with them. I guess, experimenting is the answer. I started on this project last week but never got around to completing it. Today, I decided to finish it off and see how my experiment will work our eventually.

This is how the original looks like.
This cover is always in files that I received
from our counterpart in US. When the contents
are discarded after a while, so, too, this plastic
sheet.
After applying Gesso, I painted it with acrylic paints in various colours and add all the elements using Mod Podge.

Supplies : Plastic Sheet,
Gesso, Acrylic Paints, Mod Podge
Handmade Flowers (thank you Asmah),

I wish to enter this to STAMPlorations January Mixed Media challenge:

You Are Fabulous

Good evening crafters. It is nice to be playing with my papers, inks, stamps, stencils, glue and modelling paste once again.
It is such a hot day today (has been since early January 2016) and a good excuse to simply laze around. My body wanted to lie down but my mind wanted to create. So, it is a matter of mind over body. I am a CAS girl but after staring at it for a while, I decided to add stamps and stencils over them and clutter the layout a little bit.
This layout is created for Kraft+ challenge http://kraftpluschallenges.

whereby the theme is Handwriting. I know I do not have world-class Handwriting and after being at the computer for soooooo long, my Handwriting is no longer as neat as it used to be. Nevertheless, this is a good way to learn to write again.
The layout is of my daughter when she was 14 years of age. She has been harping at her dad to let her ride his bike. Finally, on this morning on Sunday, her wish came true.

Location: Near Home
Supplies: Kraft Cardstock, Washi Tape, Paper Boutique pp, Stamploration Stencils, Stamps,
Reeves Modelling Paste, Reeves Acrylic Paint, Butterflies and flower centers from Typo,
Tag and Sentiment from DIT die-cut, Inks

The Journalling said:
"At age 14 years, my girl decided to ride her dad's bike. Under dad's watchful eye, she had a way of handling the machine. We were lucky as our house was in front of a huge filed so she could practice safely. She only had to watch out for the morning joggers and young cyclists.
After a few laps, dad said enough is enough. I guess she can hardly wait to obtain her license."

This is my legacy to her of her magical moment.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
