Staycation Projects - Mix and Match

We have already passed the mid-January of 2021. How time flies. Since we are on MCO 2.0, I have been on Homecation as my little sister, Asmah https://qinaahanaartsandcrafts.blogspot.com/. said. What have I achieved for the past 19 days at home? Not much because I have been spending a lot of my time watching Abandoned Places videos. Currently the Broken Window Theory Urban Exploration. Here is one and you can just go to their youtube channel to watch the series.

Watching this channel truly evoke mixed feelings in me. The things we work so hard to accumulate, the house we work so hard to purchase, cars, and whatever possessions we had will be abandoned one day and become ruins or become forgotten. I have seen a number of abandoned houses during my travels but I never really pay much attention to them. Until I watch these videos, there are histories related to them. Histories untold or one can take the time to research on them to know more.

After watching each and every episode, I decided to evaluate the things that I have accumulated thus far. Things prior to my marriage that were either handed down to me by my parents or bought, wedding gifts, items bought after marriage, gifts of some kind or freebies that come with good purchased. I am going to re-evaluate and break them up into:

1) Recycle

2) Reuse

3) Resell

4) Trash

I know I have done more than 30 days last year decluttering and reducing stuffs. Along the way I did not do a re-organization and cleaning of the vacant slots created. Today, I am going to show what I did with one cabinet. I shall work my way cabinet to cabinet and hopefully able to reduce more. This is my journey to an Organization and Cleaning Staycation or Homecation during MCO 2.0.

  1. Yes. We take nothing with us when we leave this world. I think our focus should be on what we leave...and that is love. We should not focus on the things we can get but rather on loving those that we will one day leave behind.

  2. Watching the stories of abandoned places sounds so interesting. I'd like to watch that. :)

    1. Yes, I really like to watch them, too, especially when there is history attached to the places involved.

  3. You asked on my https://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.com/ whether scrapbook layouts could be entered:
It's anything goes as long as some patterned paper or card has been used .... yes, scrapbook layouts are welcome xx

  4. How is the organizing going? I have a difficult time throwing things away. I had to downsize quite a bit when I moved and it was a very difficult time. It was hard to let go of so many things at once. It might be easier a little at a time. Good luck!

    1. I feel you Eniko. After watching Abandoned Places and all the things left behind, I decided I might as well do the clearing up process myself and make things a lot easier for my husband or my daughter later on. It is tough but it has to be done. It is becoming a daily process and it is getting a little easier.
